• Attend client/resident meetings when required to explain reports that have been issued and the implications of the findings.

Role Requirements 
The Principal Designer Building Regulations will carry out duties in accordance with the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA), working with Housing Association, Local Authority Clients and Contractors. This will include delivering all Principal Designer services directly for clients on residential property, including Higher Risk Buildings (HRB) as follows: 
 
• Ensuring that the design team has the necessary competence and experience to set out their duties. 
• Ensure that the design work complies with all relevant Building Safety requirements. 
• Review the Building Safety Case for the building.

The Person 
The successful Principal Designer will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience providing dedicated Principal Designer & CDM services or a Design Management/Architectural background which we will train and develop around CDM if required. They will have:

• Experience in implementing Health and Safety procedures and guidelines and design work compliance. 
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety and Building Regulations within the construction industry and on site experience. 
• Professional qualification in designing, building surveying or building services discipline - desirable. 
• Member of or working towards an approved membership body, namely; IMaPs/GradIOSH or higher.

This opportunity is for an experienced level role within the Monitoring Surveying and Due Diligence division, encompassing all technical and commercial aspects of a monitoring surveying and due diligence role whereby they can consistently provide reasoned application of competency. This role is likely to involve the management of other members of staff or to direct and control a team (external or internal) of varying technical ability. It will also entail responsibility for the successful delivery of monitoring surveying commissions of varying nature and complexity. 
 
This role is based in our London office but will require regular travel to meet the demands of the projects, therefore flexibility is required which includes working a reasonable level of additional hours when needed. Projects are in the main located in the South-East, but candidates are expected to be available to work nationwide.
